Despite strictest immigration laws, UK prime minister set to leave ECHR

(MENAFN) As he completes plans for the UK's harshest immigration legislation yet, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is prepared to pull his nation out of the European Convention on Human Rights, according to a story in The Times on Sunday.

According to official predictions, 65,000 illegal immigrants are anticipated to enter the UK this year, which is an increase of about 50% from the previous year.

According to The Times, Sunak's proposal, which will be presented in the upcoming weeks, will forbid anybody from entering the UK illegally from requesting refuge there. Plans for deportation to their home country or to Rwanda, with whom the UK has a deal, will be laid out in "days or weeks" rather than "months or years."

Also, eight out of every ten asylum seekers who enter the nation exploit the modern slavery criteria, which will be revised as a result of the new regulations. They also contain clauses that call for the construction of new jails.
