Arabian Peninsula Horse Show Concludes

Doha: The Arabian Peninsula Horse show within the 3rd edition of Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF-2023), which is being held under the generous patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, concluded yesterday.

KIAHF 2023 carries a total prize-money of QR 17,083,500 and has the participation of 18 countries.

Organized by the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara in cooperation with Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC), the KIAHF 2023 continues until February 11 at Katara Corniche.

Abdul Rahman Al Nassar, Director of the Doha Stud, expressed his happiness that the stud won many medals in the championship and won two golds. He lauded the high level of organization of the festival, which enjoys wide participation from the best studs and farms in the world.

Al Nassar noted that a large participation of horse owners from inside and outside Qatar was recorded in the qualifying rounds for the championship, as the championship witnessed strong competition in order to obtain the first positions qualifying for the championship finals in order to win the colored medals.

He stressed that the festival has become one of the largest festivals in the region and has a high international reputation.

For his part, Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, expressed his happiness with the victory in the championship, describing the competition as strong in the presence of horses of the best breeds in the world, which raised the general level of competition.

He explained that the Dubai Stud participated with 7 horses that won the first places in the qualifiers, and they all qualified for the final competitions, and the stud received a number of medals, the most important of which was the golden stallions.

In its third edition, the festival is receiving great international attention and interest, to compete in strong competitions with the best and finest ancient horse breeds from different continents of the world. The edition witnesses the participation of 40 referees for the two tournaments, including 15 referees for the peninsula horses, and 25 referees for the“Title Show”.
