(MENAFN- Gulf Times) ICON Medical Center, the International Center for Orthopedics and Neuroscience specialising in the treatment of orthopaedic, nerves and sports injuries, has signed a co-operation and support agreement with Fame Sports Academy. The agreement comes in the interest of ICON Medical Center to support sports and provide a safe environment for athletes through medical examinations and awareness sessions. The agreement includes providing medical examinations for athletes affiliated with the academy as well as conducting workshops and periodic awareness seminars for the members. ICON Center will also work to support the sports competitions held by Fame Academy.
This agreement also comes as part of ICON Center's social responsibility towards the community, especially that Fame Sports Academy is considered as one of the
best academies for providing youth and children with quality health and fitness training through the game of basketball, a press statement notes. Ahmed Hamouda, director-general of Fame Basketball Academy, expressed gratitude at signing the agreement, adding that ICON Center is one of the best and most prestigious facilities specialised in the treatment of bones, nerves and sports injuries, and that signing this agreement will constitute an added value enabling the academy to raise awareness of sports injuries and raise safety levels for players.
He added that many contests and competitions will be held this year in co-operation with ICON Center and other partners. It is worth mentioning that ICON Medical Center is one of the subsidiaries of Mohamed bin Hamad Holding Group, established nearly 10 years ago as the first center specialised in orthopedic, neurological, spine and sports medicine in Qatar. Fame Sports Academy was established seven years ago, and it encompasses a dedicated group of professionals passionate about raising healthy, successful children and playing the game of basketball.
