Pakistan Extends Unwavering Support To Kashmiris: MP Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday stated that Pakistan will continue extending their unwavering support the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who have been oppressed through the Indian actions of August 2019.

Chairing a meeting in preparation of Kashmir Solidarity Day to be held on February 5, the Pakistani Premier said that the people of Pakistan will not remain silent till Kashmir dispute is resolved through legal channels.

Mr. Sharif instructed all the relevant departments to work together regarding the preparations of Kashmir Solidarity Day, and echo the vice of the people of Kashmir being oppressed in the hands of the Indian government to all corners of the world.

The representatives of the federal ministries and governments of Gilgit Baltistan and Azan Jammu and Kashmir briefed the prime ministers about their respective preparations, which includes demonstrations, walks, photo exhibitions, debate contests and other events to be held across the country.

“This is aimed at bringing Kashmiri people's issue under a spotlight so that the international community should know the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation, and how they are gradually being isolated from the rest of world,” Pakistani Prime Minister said.

While addressing to the participants, the prime minister said that for the last 75 years, India had illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the violence had increased in recent past. He further reiterated to be the voice of Kashmiris, the people and government of Pakistan would do anything to find a comprehensive resolution to Kashmir dispute.

The hostility and harsh rivalry between Pakistan and India, the two atomic powers in the South Asia mainly dates back to the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India. Since India and Pakistan's partition in 1947, both countries have encountered several fights and cross border shelling resulting in death and injury of the hundreds of people from both sides.
