Shipment from Bushehr district surges 45 percent


(MENAFN) According to a provincial official, the value of non-oil exports from the southwest Iranian province of Bushehr increased by 45 percent in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022–January 20, 2023) as compared to the same period the previous year.

In the first ten months of this year, commodities worth USD11.5 billion were exported from the province, according to Ali Soleymani, director-general of the customs department in Bushehr, the province's main city. This represents an eight percent increase in weight year over year.

He listed China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, South Africa, Turkey, and Pakistan as the top export destinations, along with petrochemicals, minerals, fisheries, and vegetables as the primary exported goods.

The official went on to say that in the first ten months of this year, USD1.6 billion worth of goods were imported into the province, representing a 44 percent increase in value and a 26 percent increase in weight compared to the same period last year.

Bushehr, a coastal province on the border of the Persian Gulf, is well known for its marine commerce and commercial relations to other nations. Due to the fact that Bushehr province has the longest maritime border with the Persian Gulf, numerous customs and port services are offered to traders and merchants along its coastline.
