(MENAFN) According to the director-general of the district's mining and trade department, there are 165 vacant industrial units in Iran's west Kordestan district.
According to Bakhtiar Khaliqi, there are 996 industrial units in the region, and 165 of them (16.56 percent) are vacant.
The official also mentioned that there are 355 mining units in the province, stating that 202 units, or 56 percent of them, are operating, seven units are being outfitted, and the other units are idle.
According to Khaliqi, the province of Kordestan has capacities such as bordering and having a wealth of minerals such as iron ore and gold, which can increase the share of the province's economy in these sectors. He also stated that 42.5 percent of the province's economy is related to industry, mining, and trade.
Since the current administration took office in August 2021, almost 2,000 idle units have resumed production, according to Ali Rasoulian, head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO).
