Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the impressive historical successes achieved by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that made it the best World Cup.
In a press statement, the AFC President said that the Asian continent is proud of what the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has achieved that made it the best World Cup.
The AFC President renewed his sincere congratulations to the Qatari leadership, the organizing committee and the Qatar Football Association for the impressive historical success of the World Cup, expressing his pride in the Asian soccer unity which has achieved remarkable successes and charted a dazzling future for more development and advancement.
He pointed out that Asia has become a world football destination, thanks to its economic potential, infrastructure and qualified human cadres, saying the there are historical shifts in the national federations' plans, aspirations, marketing, technical, and investment plans, which are in line with the phases of the AFC's strategy since 2013.
Shaikh Salman noted that the AFC has become a home and an incubator for enrichment, discussions and collective decisions, while focusing on continuous work for Asian football.
