Iran cautions US from starting war

(MENAFN) According to Newsweek, Iranian officials have cautioned that American military action against their nation runs the risk of sparking a full-scale conflict. There have been rumors that Washington may have been involved in a recent drone strike on an Iranian military facility.

The Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nation warned Newsweek on Monday that any deployment of “the use of the military option at any level means US entry into the war.” The statement said Iran presently views such a prospect as "weak." Nevertheless, it went on to say that if "the US miscalculates and starts a war," Washington would be responsible for the dire repercussions for the region and the rest of the globe.

The remarks were made following a Saturday night attack on a building belonging to the Iranian Defense Ministry in the city of Isfahan. The Wall Street Journal and the Jerusalem Post, among other news organizations, claimed that Israel had launched the attack from within Iran. Three tiny drones apparently carrying explosive payloads were used in the attack.
