Ukrainian Troops Undergo Mine Safety Training In UK


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as part of their basic joint military training in Great Britain, under the guidance of Canadian instructors, are working out mine safety issues.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, announced this on telegram , posting a photo from the exercise.

According to Pavliuk, the sessions are part of the basic combined military training under the leadership of instructors with the 1st Sapper Regiment 1st Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group 3rd Canadian Division of Canada's Ground Forces within Operation UNIFIER - UK.'

'Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Canada are on the territory of Great Britain to share their experience and teach Ukrainian recruits how to handle weapons, ensuring their operational readiness,' said the deputy commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Pavliuk emphasized that 'engineering training is important both from the point of view of theory, and in terms of practice in identifying special signs of places where explosive objects have been installed and the rules for using an engineering probe and ways to detect stretch marks and identify mine traps.'

As reported by Ukrinform, the UK government launched in 2022 basic combined military training for Ukrainian recruits on British soil. It is part of the UK's ongoing commitment of more than GBP2.3 billion in support to Ukraine.
