(MENAFN) Some provincial authorities attended a conference where the issues and difficulties experienced by farmers and producers of agricultural goods in the province of Alborz were discussed.
Environmental restrictions, a lack of water and land, a lack of liquidity, rising production costs, capital flight and absorption in the gold and foreign exchange markets, and the challenging circumstances of providing bank facilities to production units were some of the issues raised and looked into in the meeting that was held last week.
In line with the reports, the conference, which was hosted by the province's Investment Making Services Center, included the directors of the departments of agriculture and finance and economic affairs as well as the chairman of the chamber of cooperatives in the province.
Talking about the gathering, Reza Jafari, the chief of the province’s Finance and Economic Affairs Department, stated that, “Alborz province has many capacities for investment, which unfortunately have been neglected. Among the available capacities, we can mention the capacity of Alborz in the field of agriculture, especially the construction of greenhouses, which can play an important role in exports, attracting foreign investors, increasing employment, and economic prosperity of the province.”
He stated that the state of foreign investment in Alborz province in spite of the restircitions and also said that “Considering the problems in financial and currency exchanges between Iran and foreign countries; We can solve this problem through barter trade with other countries.”
