European share markets end Friday’s session with increases


(MENAFN) European share markets ended with increases on Friday’s end.

The STOXX Europe 600, which contains nearly 90 percent of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 nations, surged 1.19 points, or 0.26 percent, to end standing at 455.17.

The UK's FTSE 100 gained 4 points, or 0.05 percent, to close the day standing at 7,765.

Germany's DAX 30, in the meantime, climbed by 17 points, or 0.11 percent, to amount to 15,150. France's CAC 40 earned one point, or 0.02 percent, to finish standing at 7,097.

Italy's FTSE MIB became the highest performer of the session by surging 218 points, or 0.83 percent, to reach 26,435.

Spain's IBEX 35 rose by 24 points, or 0.27 percent, to close the session standing at 9,060.

The dollar index earned 0.1 percent to amount to 101.94, while the euro declined by 0.2 percent to reach USD1.0867 in contrast with the dollar.

Precious metals were lower, with gold losing 0.1 percent to reach USD1,927 an ounce and silver dropping 1.4 percent to reach USD23.58.
