Real Madrid criticizes report demanding away shirts to be banned from home matches


(MENAFN) Real Madrid on Tuesday slammed back at a report demanding away shirts are blocked from their home ground before a Copa del Rey game versus Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

"This information is categorically and entirely incorrect," Los Blancos stated in an announcement, talking about the report by Marca sports daily, also mentioning that they never declined admission to Santiago Bernabeu stadium to supporters wearing away team jerseys.

"This has always been the case, as we have seen in every match held in our stadium, and this will continue to be the case," the announcement also mentioned.

Real Madrid also explained why they have only allocated Atletico 334 tickets for the derby, in spited of having a greater request.

The club asserted that "The number of tickets made available to Atlético de Madrid is the same number that Real Madrid receives when visiting the Metropolitano stadium, in accordance with the agreement reached by both clubs within the framework of the excellent relationship that we have with each other."
