Turkey’s STM finalizes 2nd submarine innovation venture for Pakistan


(MENAFN) Turkish defense company STM has announced that the second submarine modernization venture is completed for the Pakistan Navy, as said in the companies press statement on Wednesday.

The company made innovation activities of AGOSTA 90B Class submarine, arming it with modern and state of the art systems.

Turkish defense company STM has distributed the submarine, labeled PNS/M KHALID (S-137), to Pakistan Naval Forces Command at a ceremony.

The submarine before, labelled PNS/M HAMZA (S-139), was distributed back in April two years ago.

Ozgur Guleryuz, the general head of STM, went further on to say in the press release that "Within the scope of the AGOSTA Modernization project, which stands out as Türkiye’s first submarine modernization engineering export project involving strategic and high-tech systems, we have successfully equipped the second submarine with modern systems after having delivered the first to the customer in 2021."
