(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- The Somali National Army killed over 50 Al-Shabaab militants in an operation near Harardhere town in the country's central Mudug region on Wednesday, according to local reports.
The military operation caused 'serious losses' to the militant group, as army forces were still chasing other fleeing gunmen, Infantry Commander Gen. Mohammad Tahlil was quoted by the state-owned news agency (SONNA) as saying in a statement.
He added that the army operation was carried out in collaboration with 'international partners'. (end)
