Baghdad, Jan 24 (Petra) - Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid said Iraq's ties with Jordan are 'strong and long-standing.'
During a high-level Jordanian media delegation visit to Iraq on Tuesday, Rashid said Baghdad enjoys good relations with Arab, regional and international countries.
He added that the free press is an 'important' part of societies as it determines the negatives and positives of the government, noting, nonetheless, that the media fall short of conveying what he described as the 'true image ' of Iraq.
He urged journalists to take their professional role in dealing with developments in the Arab and international arenas and to reject the principle of using the media to stoke problems and review crises without contributing to providing positive solutions.
