Jordan Condemns Tearing Of Qur'an In Netherlands

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)

Amman, Jan 24 (Petra) - Jordan Tuesday condemned tearing a copy of the Quran in the Hague, the Netherlands, describing the incident as 'extremist and fanatical.'
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatiates said Jordan rejects and condemns extremist actions that run counter to human, moral and religious values and principles, fuel hatred and violence, threaten peaceful coexistence and destabilise security and stability.
The Ministry said burning and tearing copies of the Qur'an is an act of 'dangerous hate' and a manifestation of Islamophobia that incites violence and insulting religions, noting that extremism cannot be considered a form of freedom of expression.
