The Standard & Board 500 index closed down 2.86 points, or 0.07%, to 4016.95 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index recorded a decrease of 30.14 points, or 0.27%, to close at 11334.27 points.
Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 104.40 points, or 0.31%, to 33733.96 points.
