Imam Khomeini harbor imports 12M tons of basic commodities in 9 months


(MENAFN) As declared by a provincial chief, 12 million tons of basic goods were imported in Imam Khomeini harbor, in southwestern Khuzestan district, throughout the first nine months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-Decembers 21, 2022).

Behrouz Aqaei, the director-general of Khuzestan province’s Ports and Maritime Department, stated that 209 ships have imported 12 million tons of basic commodities in Imam Khomeini Port in the stated nine-month timespan, of which 50 percent of the commodities were for the private sector and 50 percent for the governmental sector.

As mentioned in a report by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), 17,449,670 tons of basic goods were imported in the harbors of the nation throughout the opening nine months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year.

As declared earlier by the deputy chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran has unloaded 30.9 million tons of basic commodities in the previous Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20, 2022).
