AMMAN, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- A project to restore heritage buildings, some of which date back about 100 years, has restored the momentum of the center of the Jordanian capital, Amman, which is packed with people from the city's residents and visitors.
The process of converting these buildings into commercial projects, most of which are restaurants, well-known markets and tourist shops, liven up these houses built since the start of the last century and contributed to the urban development of Amman.
The Roman, Byzantine and Islamic monuments that are located in downtown further transformed the uses of buildings into commercial projects that meet the needs of tourists who visit Jordan to view its ancient features.
The most prominent of which are the remains of the ancient city of Philadelphia such as the Roman Theater, the Odeon Theatre, the Nymphaeum and the Citadel with its Byzantine, Roman and Islamic monuments, for instance the Umayyad Mosque. (end) ab.lr
