Presidents of Joint Expeditionary Force countries to talk about Russia-Ukraine conflict


(MENAFN) The presidents of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) member states are preparing to gather on Monday in Riga, the capital of Latvia, to talk about Russia’s conflict on Ukraine and “consequent changes in the security climate in the North Atlantic, Baltic Sea and the High North regions," a Latvian administration announcement mentioned.

Functioning for almost 5 years now (since 2018), the JEF coalition that complements NATO contained of like-minded countries Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden as well as Norway to reply fast to crises in the High North and Northern Europe.

The gathering is going to be hosted and ruled by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“They (participants) are also expected to accelerate cooperation among JEF nations, bolster intelligence sharing, strengthen defences to hybrid threats and protect critical national infrastructure,” as announce by a UK administration announcement.
