Iran placed world’s 7th leading cement manufacturer last year


(MENAFN) Iran outputted 63 million tons of cement last year to be placed the world’s seventh largest cement manufacturer, as reported by IRIB quoting international statistics.

According to reports, the Islamic Republic also shipped 14.4 million tons of cement in the prior year to stand in fourth place between the world’s leading cement exporters.

According to the Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry data, Iranian cement complexes have been able to ship to 7.6 million tons of the outputs in the initial seven months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), recording a four percent surge in comparison with the number for the prior year’s same time span.

The Islamic Republic was placed the world’s fifth leading cement manufacturer in the last two years, outputting 69 million tons of the outputs.

Iranian cement industry has a history of over 80 years of activity.
