Kuwait Affirms Military Occupation Severely Affects Palestinians' Humanitarian Situation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait stressed that the military occupation severely affects the humanitarian situation, the social and political life of Palestinians and their ability to exercise their basic human rights.
This came in Kuwait's statement delivered by Councillor Abdulaziz Amash before the UN's General Assembly during the discussion of 'Strengthening the coordination of humanitarian assistance and relief aid provided by the UN in cases of disasters, including special economic assistance.'
Amash pointed out that the occupation forces continued imposing their unjust blockade on Gaza's strip and their violence against unarmed civilians.
He touched on the Secretary-General report that affirms the number of violations committed by occupation forces and the suffering of Palestinians on their occupied land from settlement expansion, demolition of houses, forced evictions, and the restrictions on access and movement.
He also added that the world is witnessing increase in natural and man-made disasters, and the difficult humanitarian and economic repercussions that have affected them which increased the burden on the UN.
Based on what the UN called for in its resolutions and reports regarding humanitarian aid, Kuwait reaffirms the importance of strengthening and coordinating humanitarian aid and relief assistance provided by the UN in cases of disasters and crises, he noted.
He praised the role of the UN's agencies and their partners as well as their staff in supporting and coordinating humanitarian and relief aid around the world. (end)
