Ukraine Returns Another 60 Defenders From Russian Captivity


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As part of another exchange of prisoners of war on Tuesday, Ukraine returned 60 warriors from Russian captivity, including 34 defenders of Mariupol.

This was announced by Head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

'Another successful exchange of prisoners of war. Symbolic. On the Armed Forces' Day, 60 warriors of the Armed Forces, National Guard, State Border Guard Service - 58 men and two women, 15 officers and 45 privates and sergeants - are returning home. This is the best news on the day of the holiday, because the heroes must be alive,' he wrote.

According to the President's Office head, today's“list of 60' includes 34 defenders of Mariupol, in particular, 14 warriors who defended Azovstal.

Yermak noted that there were wounded among the freed soldiers and promised that they would receive all the necessary assistance in Ukraine.

He also informed that among the soldiers, who were returned as part of the exchange, there were those who had been kept in Russia, as well as in Olenivka.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that as of December 1, Ukraine had already returned 1,319 Ukrainian soldiers from Russian captivity.
