Sewer System Burst In Mariupol, Streets And Basements Flooded


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Livoberezhny district of occupied Mariupol, sewer pipes burst due to the demolition of buildings. Streets and basements of buildings were flooded.

'Due to the intensified demolition of buildings in Livoberezhny district, the sewer pipes burst in the area of Meotydy Blvrd and the streets and basements of the buildings were flooded,' the Mariupol City Council posted on telegram .

The residents are freezing in their homes, covering windows with broken panes with construction film, but the temperature in the apartments is only 1° Celsius.

'A long winter is ahead. Mariupol residents do not know whether they will be able to survive it,' the city council stated.

In addition, according to local residents, corpses of people killed by invaders during the siege are still found in wells. 'They say it's yet another complication to start the heating season,' the city council noted.

As reported, Mariupol experiences one of the biggest humanitarian disasters caused by Russia's aggression. The city was almost 90% destroyed as a result of enemy shelling. Mariupol currently has no normal electricity, water, and gas supply. More than 100,000 residents remain in the blocked city.
