Mullah Mohammad Yaqoub Mujahid, the acting Minister of Defense of the incumbent administration in Afghanistan met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi, the ministry announced.

The meeting was held at Qasr al-Shati, according to a news release
released by the Ministry of Defense on Monday, the 5th of December.

According to the news release and domestic media of the UAE, the Afghan official was received by the UAE President at the Al Shati Palace, where both parties discussed cooperation relations and matters of mutual interest.

Anas Haqqani stated the purpose of his official trip to the UAE, in an interview with the Afghanistan National Television, citing the issues faced by Afghans living in the UAE.

Unconfirmed reports, on the other hand, indicate that the process of negotiations between the officials of the current administration
and the political figures of the former Afghan government is beginning to take shape.

It is also rumored that Hamid Karzai, the former Afghan president, also departed the country after over 15 months of the travel ban, for this reason. A list of a number of prominent Afghan political figures that Khaama Press has received indicates their potential participation in the talks.

This comes as foreign ambassadors to Afghanistan are set to visit the supreme leader of the incumbent administration in the southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, on Monday.
