Necessity for administrations to utilize communication efficiently underlined at global conference

(MENAFN) The necessity for administrations to utilize communication efficiently was underlined Saturday on the second and final day of the International Strategic Communication Summit Stratcom.

Addressing the meeting in Istanbul, Murat Karagoz, the director-general for info at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, declared that the world was passing through “an era of rapid transformations.”

“We are witnessing several power centers and competing agendas,” he added.

The root cause of this is the zero-sum mentality in addressing many disasters from climate change to lack of energy.

“It is safe to say that no single country can overcome these challenges alone,” he added, emphasizing the importance for global solidarity and collaboration to fight these difficulties.

“However, in my judgment,” he continued, “the main issue is lack of trust among states.”

Karagoz cited Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu who called this situation “a vicious cycle.”

“He basically said that this lack of dialogue feeds distrust and distrust leads to division and polarization. And these divisions prevent any dialogue again,” Karagoz went on to say. “So we need to break this vicious cycle.”
