DOHA: Vincent Aboubakar fired a stunning header in stoppage time (90+2 minutes) to give Cameroon a stunning 1-0 victory over Brazil at Lusail Stadium on Friday.

Aboubakar was sent off for his second yellow card for taking his shirt off in celebration but he made Cameroon the first African nation to beat the five-time champions at the World Cup.

Rigobert Song's side, however failed to go through the group stage, as Switzerland edged Serbia 3-2 in a thrilling match at Stadium 974 to finish as runners-up in Group G.

Brazil, who topped the group despite defeat, will play their last 16 game against South Korea on Monday while Switzerland face Portugal the following day.

Coach Tite, as expected, made sweeping changes to Brazil squad resting nine starters from the last match against Switzerland ahead of the last-16 stage. Defender Eder Militao and midfielder Fred were the only players who were retained.

With Neymar nursing an injury watching from stands, Dani Alves became Brazil's oldest World Cup captain at the age of 39.
