Kuleba Assured That Ukraine Will Get EU's Macro-Financial Assistance

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The issue of the provision of the EU's macro-financial assistance to Ukraine will in any case be resolved positively.

'I, Mr. Borrell [EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy], and some other colleagues from the EU talked in detail here about how we will solve this issue. I was assured that the issue of EU's macro-financial aid to Ukraine will be resolved positively under any circumstances,' Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told Ukrainian mass media at the Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Łódź, answering a question about Hungary's possible blocking of EU's macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kyiv 'has a Plan B' in this matter, he emphasized.

As reported, Budapest said in November that it would not support the necessary amendments to prepare the EU aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 18 billion euros next year. At the same time, Hungary announced plans to provide Ukraine with EUR 187 million in financial aid.

A few days ago, the European Commission recommended 'freezing' the allocation of 7.5 billion euros from EC funds to Hungary due to problems with the rule of law.
