(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Dec 1 (KUNA) -- At least 10 people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in northwestern Cairo on Thursday, said a security official.
The accident took place on the desert road in Wadi Al-Natroun City in Beheira Governorate, Beheira Security Chief Maj. Gen. Ahmad Khalaf was quoted by Egypt's official news agency (MENA) as saying.
The tragedy was due to a truck-tractor collision on Cairo-Alexandria desert road in Wadi Al-Natroun, the official said
Traffic accidents are common in Egypt mainly due to poorly maintained roads and over-speeding. (end)
