(MENAFN) Air traveler request is estimated to double worldwide during the upcoming 20 years, with Asia-Pacific as well as the Middle East constituting in 58 percent of the amount, in line with a report by Airports Council International.
Worldwide traveler amounts are estimated to surge from 9.2 billion 3 years ago to around 19 billion within the next 20 years forecasted by the ACI Asia-Pacific's Airport Industry Outlook, a quarterly assessment of the airports' performances.
According to these numbers, Middle Eastern airports are anticipated to welcome 1.1 billion travels by 2040 – a noteworthy surge of almost 300 percent of the combined traffic of 505 million they received in 2019.
ACI Director General of ACI Asia-Pacific Stefano Baronci stated that the area need to get ready for the approaching surge of passengers to the airport: "The consistent improvement in passenger volumes in the region is a positive indication of a sustained recovery of the industry following prolonged efforts towards rebuilding passenger confidence in air travel."
