The average income level required for social assistance is determined using this data and consumer standards endorsed by the nation's government.

The predicted 3,400 krona (USD363) monthly consumption basket for one adult in this year. Based on a four-week nutrition plan suggested by Swedish food experts, this amount is 10,700 krona (USD1,142) for a household of two adults and two school-aged children.

A manager from the Swedish Consumer Agency, Kristina Difs, claimed in a statement, "In our calculations we are taking into account only basic needs and not some luxurious consumption." She declared that while yearly expenditure increases often don't amount to much, this year "we have seen numbers quickly lose relevance."
