(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Agriculture Minister and Chairman of the International Olive Council (IOC) Khalid Hneifat inaugurated the 116th session of the IOC on Monday in Jaén, Spain, in which Jordan is presiding for 2022.
Hneifat stressed the importance of the olive sector and its role in food security, in addition to its high economic significance to most member states, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister also called for joining efforts, exchanging expertise and preparing a clear framework to preserve the sector, mainly in light of climate change, which is affecting the whole world.
