Foreign Ambassadors Visit Darb Al Saai

Doha: A number of Their Excellencies Ambassadors accredited to Qatar and Unesco Representative for the Gulf States and Yemen and Director of the Unesco Regional Office in Doha visited on Saturday Darb Al Saai, the venue of Qatar National Day festivities.

Accompanied during the tour by Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Their Excellencies the Ambassadors learned about different aspects of the Qatari culture and attended a number of cultural and folklore activities.

They also attended part of the musical evening 'The Oud Trilogy' presented by the Music Affairs Centre as part of the artistic events. 

They also visited a number of exhibitions and art workshops presented by the Liwan Pavilion at Darb Al Saai.

In press remarks, the ambassadors praised the activities and events organised by the National Day celebration committee as well as the festivities coinciding with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Ambassador of Egypt to Qatar H E Amr Kamal El Din Al Sherbini lauded the Ministry of Culture's efforts for showcasing the Qatari heritage at Darb Al Saai.
He extended congratulations to Qatar on the good organisation of the World Cup.

For his Part, Unesco Representative for the Gulf States and Yemen and Director of the Unesco Regional Office in Doha Salah El Din Zaki Khaled praised the Ministry's efforts for reviving the cultural heritage in Qatar through Darb Al Saai activities, particularly the traditional hand crafts.

Ambassador of India to Qatar H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, said in a statement to QNA that the activities of Darb Al Saai express the culture of Qatar in all its aspects, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Culture that accompany the activities of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Ambassador of Niger to Qatar Hassan Embarak Boubacar, expressed his happiness at visiting the new venue of Darb Al Saai, and expressed his admiration for the impressive and elegant organisation, noting at the same time the great turnout by citizens, residents and visitors who come to learn about the heritage and culture in Qatar. For his part, Ambassador of Moldova H E Julian Gergorica extended thanks to the Ministry of Culture for organising the Darb Al Saai activities, which coincide with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, commending the Qatari people and government for doing a great job in organising the World Cup and managing huge crowds of fans.

Darb Al Saai activities are held this year under the slogan,“Our Unity Source of Our Strength”, as part of the country's celebrations of the National Day, and will continue until December 18.
