(MENAFN) Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the president of the Islamic Revolution, has assured that Iran's fight is not with a group of protestors who have triggered disorder in the nation, but "the major fight is with the global hegemony."
Speaking around a group of Basij volunteer associates in the capital Tehran on Saturday, the president highlighted that the “Basiji culture” is one of humble, industrious volunteers.
It is a culture of “fearless combatants” with a sense of bravery, a sense of supporting humanity, as well as a sense of serving the country, he noted.
This culture entails making sacrifices for the sake of people, the Leader mentioned.
“Being a Basij member implies embracing the fact that you will be persecuted in order to save the oppressed. You witnessed how the Basij were persecuted while protecting the Iranian people from the persecution of a gang of rioters who were either uninformed, misinformed, or mercenary,” Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.
“A group of people claiming to be politically knowledgeable, but whose analyses in newspapers and virtual space really sadden one, state that in order to end these riots, you should solve your problems with America,” the Leader commented.
