Iran's football head couch refuses to answer enquiry around riots
(MENAFN) Iran's football head coach Carlos Queiroz avoided an enquiry from a journalist around current riots in the nation, stating that he only needed to talk around the match.
At a press meeting on Thursday in advance of Iran's match versus Wales, Queiroz informed a BBC journalist: “Why don’t you ask such questions to (England’s coach) Southgate?”
“That is the only question I make. Why don’t you ask the other coaches? Why don’t you ask Southgate: What do you think about England, the United States, and [pulling out of] Afghanistan?” he stated, in line with ITV.
While agreeing on that journalists have the ability to enquire about anything they want, he stated: “It is important that we can answer whatever we want, you also need to respect that."
Mass riots have impacted Iran after the passing of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini’s who died in police custody. She was detained for being immodestly dressed.
