Pentagon is running low on weaponry supplies for Ukraine

(MENAFN) The Pentagon is concerned about a lack of artillery rounds, as well as air defense and anti-tank missiles, in Ukraine. According to CNN, the United States is running out on firearms and ammo.

According to three US officials with firsthand knowledge of the situation, the US is running low on high-end weapons systems and ammunition available to deliver to the Kiev authority.

As per CNN, among the weapons systems where there is particular worry about US stocks satisfying Ukrainian needs include 155mm artillery ammunition and Stinger anti-aircraft shoulder-fired missiles.

Meanwhile, US Defense officials claim that the shortfall is not harming US armed personnel since the weapons used in the Ukraine conflict are not the same as those used by US forces.

According to previous allegations, the US was transferring outdated missiles that its own military had ceased using to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the United States is attempting to increase manufacture of particular types of weapons.

Since Russia's military intervention in Ukraine began in late February, the US and its Western allies have provided Kiev with billions of dollars in weaponry and ammunition, despite Moscow's repeated warnings that such shipments would just prolong the fight.
