(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Jeddah, Nov 25, 2022, SPA -- The official spokesperson for the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), Hussein Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the heavy rain that affected Jeddah governorate yesterday, Thursday, was very heavy, as it lasted for about 8 hours, from 8 am to 5 pm, and reached its peak from 8 am to 2 pm, indicating that it was the highest ever recorded rain, amounted to 179.7 mm in the south of the governorate, according to the Center's monitoring stations.
He explained that this rainy state is the highest in the history of Jeddah since 2009, which at that time reached 111 mm, and 90 mm in 2011, pointing out that the chance of rainfall will be continuing until this Friday morning, before it would be limited.
The center will prepare ancillary reports of possible weather phenomena over the regions of the Kingdom, stressing the extent of early cooperation and coordination by the various relevant authorities, according to the mechanism concerned with dealing with weather phenomena.
