Saudi Tourism Development Fund will support 50 projects with USD266M


(MENAFN) Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khatib, the Kingdom's Minister of Tourism, announced that SR1 billion (USD266 million) has been allotted from the Saudi Tourism Development Fund to support up to 50 medium and small projects.

According to Al Arabiya, he made this announcement at the ministry's second virtual monthly meeting, which was held to review the developments in this important area. Al-Khatib also spoke about the ministry's initiatives to strengthen the position of the Kingdom's tourism industry.

He claimed that the ministry promotes and stimulates the owners of small projects to submit thorough feasibility studies in order to get the required funding. They are going to be able to offer extremely effective tourism services as a result.

According to Al-Khatib, the ministry is presently working on building strategies for Umrah, Taif city development, the winter season, and the World Cup in an effort to get closer to realizing the goals and objectives of the national tourist plan.
