Borsa Istanbul opens Thursday’s session almost at 4,900


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at a peak high rate of 4,880.46 points on Thursday, surging 0.54 percent, or 26.31 points, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 1.54 percent to close Wednesday at 4,854.16 points, reaching a historic peak, with a day to day exchange volume of 120 billion Turkish liras (USD6.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira selling price stood at 18.6315 at 10.50 AM regional time (0750GMT), the euro/Turkish lira trading price stood at 19.4216 as well as a British pound exchanged for 22.5135 Turkish liras.

International benchmark Brent crude sold at USD84.79 a barrel at 10.04 AM regional time (0704 GMT), a 0.73 percent decline from the ending price of USD85.41 per barrel in the prior exchange session.

The American main West Texas Intermediate (WTI) sold at USD77.59 a barrel at the same period, a 0.45 percent fall after the last session finished standing at USD 77.94 per barrel. while the price of an ounce of gold stood USD1,756.05.
