Singapore Airlines will stop operating Airbus A380 aircraft in New York next May.

Beginning May 15, the carrier will instead fly Boeing 777-300ER planes on its JFK-Frankfurt-Singapore route, spokesman James Boyd said.

Singapore Airlines brought its most luxurious aircraft, the reconfigured version of the A380, to JFK in March. The plane features six ultra-spacious first-class suites, each of which offers separate recliner seats and beds as well as a sliding door for privacy.

Singapore's Boeing 777-300ERs have four first-class suites, each of which are smaller than the suites on the A380.
Boyd said that Singapore will continue to offer the same premium services and products on the Boeing 777.

'These include flat beds with linens, pillows, duvets, sleep suits and personal care amenities by Lalique; premium champagnes from Krug and Taittinger; meals from our international culinary panel served on fine china; 1,000-plus on-demand entertainment options and other amenities,' he said.

Singapore Airlines also operates nonstop Singapore-Newark and Singapore-JFK flights on Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
