Kuwait Women's Volleyball Team Comes Fifth In West Asian Tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti women's volleyball team ranked fifth in the West Asian women's volleyball tourney, concluded in the Jordanian capital Amman, Wednesday, with the participation of 10 Arab teams.
Head of the Arab Federation and the Kuwaiti Volleyball Federation Abdulhadi Al-Shabib told KUNA that the Kuwaiti team finished fifth after its win against Syria in the tournament, which is the first for the Kuwaiti women's volleyball team.
Kuwaiti women's volleyball team captain Jumana Asad said in a statement to KUNA that the team competed in this tournament seven matches, winning four of them against Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria while losing three matches against Jordan, the UAE, and Iraq.
Jumana stressed that the team had been practicing to get ready for the entire month. However, some players still faced some injuries and the absence of others. (end)
