Saudi Arabia’s king, crown prince send condolences to Indonesian leader following tremor


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extended condolences to Indonesia’s leader after a tremor struck the nation’s West Java province.

The strong quake left over 160 deaths on Monday, with rescuers looking for survivors trapped under the rubble amid a series of aftershocks.

In a cable, King Salman sent his “deepest condolences and sincere sympathy” to Joko Widodo, the families of those dead, and Indonesia. He as well prayed that God give the wounded a fast recovery.

Prince Mohammed also extended a cable of condolences in which he voiced his sympathy to the families of deaths.

The epicenter of the 5.6 magnitude earthquake was near the town of Cianjur in mountainous West Java, almost 75 kilometers southeast of the capital, Jakarta. The district is home to more than 2.5 million people.
