The study was conducted by SEO experts, rank tracker who crunched the numbers to see which state has the most job openings per 100,000 of the state population.

Delaware comes out on top as the best state for a marketing career, both at a managerial and executive level.
Analysing data from the job site Jooble, researchers found that the Diamond State boasts the most marketing job openings per 100,000 people with 1,608.
In second place on the list is Wyoming with a total of 1,062 job openings per 100,000 of the population, despite being the least populous state in the country.
Vermont was named the third best place in the country to have a marketing career with 1,046 jobs per 100,000 people.
The fourth best state for a marketing career in the US is South Dakota with 995 jobs per 100,000 of its population.
With a total of 8,967 marketing job openings – meaning there are 985 jobs per 100,000 people – the state of Montana is ranked the fifth best in the country. Marketers here can look to earn
North Dakota ranked as the sixth best place in the country for a marketing career with 935 jobs per 100,000 people.
Despite being one of the states that boast the least amount of marketing jobs in the US, Alaska makes the top ten with 850 jobs per 100,000 of its population.
Massachusetts ranked as the eighth most promising state for a marketing career in the US with 829 job postings per 100,000 people. It is home to one of the biggest marketing agencies in the world, DigitasLBi, which has offices in 17 countries with over 2,000 staff.
Rhode Island and New Hampshire came ninth and tenth on the list with 785 and 776 jobs per 100,000 respectively.
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the mean salary for a marketing manager in the US is $153,440.

“This kind of research offers hope for those who are already established in their career and may be struggling to find a new role. Each state has something unique to offer and seeking opportunities in a new state can be the perfect way to flourish.
“For those who are just starting out in their marketing career, there are more than 591,000 marketing executive jobs across the whole country and counting. This is a really positive number of positions and it is clear that entry-level candidates are in demand right now.”
