Hessa Buhumaid Witnesses Second Phase Of Mohammed Bin Rashid University Of Medicine & Health Sciences Wellness On Wheels Mobile Health Programme

DUBAI, 17th October, 2022 (WAM) – Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, has witnessed the second phase of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine & Health Sciences“MBRU” Wellness on Wheels Mobile Health Clinic Initiative targeting (150) senior citizens who are registered in the database of the Ministry of Community Development, Community Development Authority and Emirates Friends of Senior Citizens Association at the headquarters of the 'Thukhur Social Club' of the Community Development Authority in Dubai.

The initiative comes as part of providing free healthcare services by volunteering physicians and specialists between 17th-18th October 2022.

The event was attended by Mohammed Al Kashf, member of the federal national council, Huraiz Al Murr, CEO Social Care & Development Sector at Community Development Authority, Mariam Al Salman Director of Emirates Friends of Senior Citizens Association, officials, volunteers and families of senior citizens.

Free field services as part of a joint collaboration between the National Program for Happiness & Wellbeing at the Ministry of Community Development and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine & Health Sciences“MBRU” continue to be provided by physicians and specialists from the University in addition to medical students and post-graduate students from the College of Medicine in support of a number of other volunteers who are registered in the national volunteering platform“volunteers.ae”. The initiative aims to deliver free healthcare services for targeted audience of all categories.

The provided services for senior citizens include vital signs, dentistry, ophthalmology, nutrition as well as other educational and entertainment activities.

As part of the collaboration between the Ministry of Community Development and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine & Health Sciences“MBRU”, the programme seeks to provide its services for people of determination, senior citizens and children at the Emirate of Dubai; the number of beneficiaries is expected to reach (800) people during the last quarter of 2022.

The programme continues its third phase on November 2022, to provide free and integrated health services for (188) people of determination and another visit on December 2022 to (200) orphans who will be provided healthcare services in vital signs, dentistry and ophthalmology services, nutrition as well as entertainment activities and programmes.
