(MENAFN- KNN India) FISME SG Anil Bhardwaj in formal core team set-up by MSME Ministry on SPS/ TBT issues for WTO

New Delhi, Oct 7 (KNN) Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has set-up a Formal Core Team to assess the impact of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) notifications of WTO members on domestic trade and industry.



According to official memo issued by the Ministry on Thursday, the Core Team shall comprise of three officials of Ministry and related departments and one representative from industry.

Anil Bhardwaj, Secretary General of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) has been made part of the Core Team.

As per the WTO agreements the commitments undertaken are a mandatory obligation for compliance of all WTO members. All WTO members notify their SPS and TBT notifications from time to time at WTO which are displayed for all at WTO website. 

The SPS and TBT notifications are an important source of information about regulations and measures being undertaken by WTO members.

Such notifications need to be continuously monitored, examined and analysed by the concerned Ministry. (KNN Bureau)
