Iranian FM: If EU takes ‘hasty political measure’ to provoke demonstrators, Iran will react in kind

(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian intimidated on Wednesday that if the European Union takes a “hasty political measure” that would provoke rioters in Iran, the Islamic Republic will respond accordingly.

Amir Abdollahian commented in a telephone call with EU foreign policy head Josep Borrell.

“If the European Union takes a hasty political measure based on baseless allegations in line with inciting rioters and terrorists who have targeted the lives and properties of the people of Iran, we will give a reciprocal response,” Amir Abdollahian also claimed.

Complaints broke out in certain Iranian cities when Masha Amini, a 22-year-old girl, passed out at a Tehran police station in mid-September and passed away later in hospital. Although top Iranian officials have promised thorough investigation to Amini’s passing the demonstrators are using her passing as an excuse to vent anger at the Islamic Republic system by starting deadly invasions targeted at security militaries, as well as policemen.
