US shares start with increases on Tuesday


(MENAFN) Main indices in the US share market started greater Tuesday, sustaining the prior session’s rally with stockholders' positivity after lower than estimated US manufacturing data.

Stockholders estimate a stoppage in the Federal Reserve's rate hikes after the Institute for Supply Management mentioned in a report issued on Monday that the US manufacturing PMI suddenly drop to 50.9 last month, the worst since May two years ago.

The Dow Jones was surged by 335.8 points, or 1.14 percent, to 29,826.7 at 9.30 AM EDT, while the S&P 500 increased 57.6 points, or 1.57 percent, to 3,736.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq climbed 234.2 points, or 2.17 percent, to 11,049.7.

The VIX volatility index, also identified as the fear index, dropped 3.06 percent to 29.18, while the 10-year US Treasury yield, in mean time, dropped 1.42 percent to 3.599 percent.

The dollar index declined 0.66 percent to 110.92.

Precious metals were on the increase, with gold gaining 0.89 percent to USD1,717 and silver increasing 1.96 percent to USD20.99.
