Tehran, Washington exchanged further communications to bring their positions on JCPOA resurrection closer together

(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran and Washington have exchanged additional letters to bring their positions on the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement and the elimination of anti-Iran sanctions closer together.

On Sunday night, Amir-Abdollahian revealed this during a phone chat with his Qatari colleague, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The communications were sent through a mediator when the senior Iranian diplomat was in New York for the 77th United Nations General Assembly conference.

Amir-Abdollahian further stated that Tehran is working hard to secure a good, solid, and long-term accord.

He stated that his recent trip to New York gave a chance to bring the two sides' perspectives closer together, and that Iran thinks discussions are now on the right track.

The roadmap for future cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) was also developed while AEOI chief Mohammad Eslami attended the 66th annual regular session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Austria, added the top Iranian diplomat.
