(MENAFN) Iranian automakers achieved to produce 516,206 automobiles throughout the first half of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22) to record a six percent expansion in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, the figures issued by the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade indicated.
According to the stated figures, production of passenger cars in the mentioned time span surged by one percent to stand at 446,564, according to what was reported by IRNA.
In line with the report, passenger cars contributed in 87 percent of the overall output of Iranian automakers in the first 6 months of the present year.
The manufacture of pickup trucks amounted to 51,340 units in the mentioned period, to record a rise of 45 percent in comparison to the first 6 months of the last year.
The peak output expansion was registered for van automobiles with 583 percent. Domestic car producers outputted 1,386 vans in the stated period.
Nearly 476 minibuses and middle-buses, 524 buses in addition to 12,916 trucks and tractors were manufactured in the named time span as well.
