Cultural tourism in Turkey is likely to pick up steam this fall

(MENAFN) Cultural tourism in Turkey is anticipated to boom this fall, according to industry insiders, with Istanbul and the famed tourist destination of Cappadocia attracting the most international visitors, citing Hurriyet Daily News.

Following the summer season, industry officials are gearing up for a productive period in terms of cultural tourism, which encompasses everything from historical and cultural treasures to cuisine.

Spring and autumn are the busiest seasons for domestic visitors visiting Turkey for cultural reasons.

As a result, with the second tourism period of the year beginning in the fall, trips for local visitors will be scheduled mostly to the southeastern provinces of Gaziantep, anlurfa, Adyaman, and Mardin, followed by Black Sea excursions.

Soner Bacaksz, a member of the board of directors of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) and a tourism expert in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, claimed that they anticipate an increase in international tourist participation on tours centered in the southeastern regions.

Another TURSAB official, Mustafa Gümrükçüolu, stated that additional runs were granted to international and domestic airlines to manage the increased demand for Black Sea holidays.
